The frame is welded cast and extruded aluminum finished in weather resistant white polyester powder coat. Seat and back are white woven vinyl coated polyester mesh that is comfortable and durable.
Schultz designed the aluminum Leisure Collection in 1966 in response to Florence Knoll's request for furniture that could withstand the Florida salt air. Now called the 1966 Collection, it remains the standard in modern outdoor furniture.
