Ettore Sottsass Callimaco Floor Lamp for Artemide c. 1980's
Ettore Sottsass Callimaco floor lamp for Artemide. Originally created in 1982, Ettore Sottsass’ “horn” of light creates the remarkable illusion of an oversized musical instrument. I have verified with Artemide that this is one of the early models, featuring the exterior fuse cap towards base (later relocated near dimmer). A floor-standing lamp, the body is aluminum painted yellow with a polished chrome handle, steel diffuser polished red and a steel base painted gray. Incorporated dimmer. A silhouette that is well-known by discerning design enthusiasts.
